AT1: Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET)

SCET is the formal framework for the theoretical treatment of the decays of heavy quarks to final states with light particles close to the light cone, like energetic pions. This theoretical framework allows for a systematic description of relevant longrange, soft and collinear degrees of freedom in QCD. It is used to calculate form factors and it is needed to study exclusive hadronic reactions. SCET is a part of newer developments aiming at a better theoretical control of such processes in the limit of large b quark masses. Applications of SCET shall be investigated.
